JUDAS ISCARIOT--  It is important to know, that everyone in the new testament that is prophesied of in the old testament. Such as Judas, John the Baptist, Jesus, the antichrist, and others. Were sent by God to fulfill a purpose in the plan of God. Just as Pharaoh and others were raised up in the old testament for a purpose in the plan of God.  And this was determined by God before the first man was actually created. Let me try and explain this. The bible tells us that God is a wise master builder. When someone wants to build a house. They just don't start throwing together some wood and blocks on some foundation and start building. But they draw up a plan and make a blue print. To see what it is going to take and what they are going to need to build the house to its completion. So did God before ever creating man from the dust of the earth. He looked at his plan from beginning to end. When he saw that man was going to sin. He made provisions in his plan for man to be forgiven. First by the shedding  of blood of goats and animals. For without the shedding of blood, there can be no remission of sins. Then he saw that man did not consider the seriousness of the shedding of blood of goats and animals. Therefore it would not be possible to take away the sin of the world thru the blood of animals. For the blood of animals had no power to do so. So for him to be able to have a one on one relationship with man and to redeem mankind back to himself. He had to have a perfect sacrifice. God made himself know in the flesh thru his Son Jesus Christ, by sending his Son so that the world might be saved. ( the word world sometimes refers to sinners, or sin. ) To die on the cross, so to those that receive him could be given power to become the sons of God. For their is power in the blood of Jesus. That is why the scriptures say that he was slain from the foundation of the world. Jesus said; what shall I say, Father deliver me from this hour, But for this hour came I into the world. And so did Judas come into this world to fulfill his hour. Jesus when talking to the Father, about his apostles he said in St John: ( I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; That the scriptures might be fulfilled. ) Only two in the bible are directly refered to as the son of perdition, Judas, and the antichrist. That's why Jesus while walking with his disciples, Said, have I not chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil. ( IS A DEVIL ) That is why the apostle wrote ( while they still were given power to cast out devils and to heal the sick ) That Judas was a Liar, a Theif, and had no compassion for the poor. During what we call the LAST SUPPER , Satan entered into Judas. Not because he could not get Judas to betray Christ without entering into him. But he knew that Jesus could see him as clearly as he seen the others that were around him. Wanting to taunt Jesus, wanting to rub it in. That it was he that was sending him to his death. That it was he that put into the hearts of the Jews to want to have him crucified and had turned his own against him. That it was he that controlled the whips of the men that were going to chastise him.  That he controlled the ones that were going to smite him and drive the crown of thorns into his head. But Satan just played the fool that he is. The scriptures that told of what Christ came into the world to do were hid from him. 1st corinthians: ( Which none of the princes of this world knew; for had they known it, They would not have crucified the Lord of glory ) That what was happening was determined  by God from the foundations of the world that no man could take his life. But that he laid it down freely because of his wonderful love. So we see that Judas was created as a vessel of dishoner, a vessel to fulfill a purpose in the plan of God.       James Walker
